Mark McKinney likes to keep the people guessing. Considered by Texas music fans to be a powerhouse of a writer and entertainer, McKinney’s wide range of musical influences are clearly evident in his highly original songs- ranging from emotion and lyric rich Americana songs; to rowdy country anthems; to delicately crafted love songs. A west Texas native, Mark moved to Austin, Texas after high school and has been quite comfortable living in the live music capitol of the world. In 2008 Mark hit the road to pursue music full time.
Mark snagged his first Number One spot on the Texas Music Chart and TRRR in early 2013 with “She Ain’t Leavin’,” the debut single off of his album, “Standing My Ground.” The next year, the second and third singles from the album, “Stolen Cash,” and “Lonely Bones” also reached Number One on both Texas Charts. The current album “World In Between,”(2017) has already landed Mark two more Number One Texas Radio songs with “Sunshine,” and in 2018 “Bridge” became a number one song in Texas.
Mark has delivered over 1000 memorable performances to his growing Texas and national fan base since 2008. To his credit, Mark has penned co-writes with Grammy-nominated songwriters John Mabe and James Slater, as well as renowned Texas songwriters Kevin Fowler, Larry Joe Taylor, Bleu Edmondson, Kyle Park and several more.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas. Dacota Deaver exhibited signs of musicianship at an early age. At six years old he was given his first guitar and was instantly attracted to the sound of the strings. His family soon learned that lessons were a waste of money because he eventually taught himself to play. At the age of twelve he relocated to South Texas. Where he soon met his first mentor, Johnny Rodriguez. After graduating from Orange Grove High school, Dacota quickly learned what life was like on the road with Johnny.
Around this time he began to write his own music in the Texas country music scene with a rock-n-roll twist. At the beginning of 2018 he formed whats now the Dacota Deaver Band and began playing shows all over Texas and the surrounding states with acts such as Zane Williams, Roger Creager, Jon Wolfe, and many more. His music can currently be heard on all music platforms and radio stations. During 2019 the Dacota Deaver Band signed on with 1836 music group. A record label based out of San Marcos TX. He is currently working on an album to be released mid February of 2020.
